In her launch speech regarding the new Erasmus+, at the Academy of Athens, the first Academy of the word, on January 16 2014, Mrs Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, said that the message is crystal clear: " Investment in education and training must continue even during a period of consolidation of public finances".
It is also our firm belief that European cooperation at all levels of education and training has strong benefits for students and staff, contributing to build constructive European identities, in response to the difficult and challenging times facing European societies today.
Drawing on its experience of participation in the Comenius, Comenius Regio, Leonardo programmes under LLP, the Directorate of Secondary Education of Piraeus is committed to engaging with partner institutions in the provision of high quality projects.
